The Three Smiling Faces

My good friend Shelley Shepard Gray (who has a new book out -- The Protector [it's wonderful]) took this picture last week when we were in NYC for the Romance Writers of America conference. Here I am with Julie Stone and Hilda Lindner Knepp in Times Square just after having dinner with the wonderful Dru Ann Love and Nora-Adrienne (who both live in the area).

Happily, Dru Ann was also able to meet up with Julie and me later in the week, too. We walked to the Empire State building and had a blast playing tourist. Dru Ann was a great tour guide. The views from the top of the Empire State building were stunning, and I geeked out on the way home as we walked past 34th Street  and  Macy's --you know how I feel about Miracle on 34th Street. And after we saw Dru Ann off to her train Julie and I stopped in for cupcakes (she has an addiction) at Crumbs Bake Shop-- gorgeous cupcakes. By the time we made it back to the hotel, I had some sore feet but it so worth it. Julie has some pictures--I need to see if I can get them from her (bribe her with more cupcakes?) so I can share them with you.

By the way, Hilda might look all sweet and innocent, but she was the only one of us four roommates who knew who the rapper Pitbull was on TV. I know, right? Who knew.
