Bits

- The gardening saga continues. Currently waiting for three yards of mulch to be delivered.

- Did I mention that today is going to have record high temps? Mid-nineties. Perfect for spreading three yards of mulch (ha!).

- I have the lyrics to "Breakeven" by The Script stuck in my head. Love the story there, and it has some of the best lines I've heard in a long time. This is the part stuck in my head:

What am I gonna do
When the best part of me was always you
And what am I suppose to say
When I'm all choked up and you're okay

I'm falling to pieces, yeah
I'm falling to pieces, yeah
I'm falling to pieces
(One's still in love while the other one's leaving)
I'm falling to pieces
('Cause when a heart breaks, no it don't breakeven)

- Still taking antibiotics for that sinus infection. Just a couple more days, but I feel better, so what I've taken already must have worked.

- If you're in the Cincinnati area, next Saturday (10/2) I'll be signing at Books by the Bank (link of the left side of the page), a huge book fair featuring tons of authors. I'll be there all day.

- One of the proposals I've been working on, a paranormal cozy series, is making rounds in NYC, so cross your fingers for me. It could be quite a while before I hear anything. Publishing is all about patience, which I sadly lack.

- Oooh, mulch just arrived. I think it would be very cool to operate a dump truck--at least once.

- Anyone see Top Chef Just Desserts last night? Watching Seth was making me uncomfortable...

- Hmm. Mulch appears to be smoldering. Let's hope the fire department will not be called to my house any time soon...

    Have fun mulching.

I wish I lived nearby for the book event.

    Have a good Thursday.

  3. Hmm. Blogger is having a hissy fit with the fonts today. Just gonna ignore it.

I'm happy to report the gardening is DONE. And I couldn't be happier about it.

And thankfully, no calls to the FD!

  4. Okay, you knew I couldn't leave the wonky font alone. Think I've finally got it fixed.

Btw, the thing I really like about that song is that it packs an emotional punch. At least it does for me! I think anyone who's ever had their heart broken can relate.

  5. Wait a minute. You got three yards of mulch spread in one morning? I'm impressed.

Barring something happening with my mum-in-law. I'll be there next Satruday. I'll look for you.

  6. Tonya, what's the saying? No rest for the weary? Oh wait. No rest for the wicked? Either way... :)

Hooray, Linda!!! I hope to see you next week, and am really hoping no complications for your m-i-l. What a rough time you all have had.

Btw, Mr. Webber took the day off to help with the mulch. He transports it, and I spread it. Makes for fast work.

  8. Thanks, Heather! I *finally* have the song out of my head. Watch, as soon as I get into the car this morning, I'll hear it on the radio...
