I'm in that funky kind of fog today I fondly call a book hangover. I was up till 1:30 last night reading.
Why can't I put a book down when I know, I KNOW, my alarm goes off at 5:40? I am not the type to survive on four hours' sleep. Why do I continue to do this to myself? I'm not sure. All I can say is that the book was good. Hide by Lisa Gardner. I picked it up because it features a Massachusetts State Police detective as does my new series. I wanted to compare but got lost somewhere in the story. As a writer, that's worth losing some sleep over.
Well, that's what I kept telling myself as I yawned my way through the morning.
Any stay-up-till-the-wee-hours for you lately?

Annette Blair's A Veiled Deception. Finished it last night, will definitely cause a book hangover =)
ReplyDeleteAlways. I wasn't reading though; I was watching DogTown episodes from my DVR with my dog and my neighbors dog. The three of us barely fit on my sofa. (I've got a Lab, and her 'boyfriend' is a full-bred Husky)
ReplyDeleteMy last book hangover was when I was re-reading Carrie Vaughn (I think... I read a lot, I can't be sure LOL)
yeah...haven't finished the book yet but I've fallen asleep reading it- "Friday Night Knitting Club" love it so far.
ReplyDeleteI've heart about Annette Blair, Melissa, but haven't read her. Will put her on my list!
ReplyDeleteLOL on watching Dog Town with the dogs, Marissa! Too cute.
Katie, I've seen the book but haven't read it yet. I'll put it on the list too... Have you read Debbie Macomber's knitting books? They're really good too.
Oh, and I had the wrong Lisa Gardner title--I blame the fog--it's Hide.
Mary Stanton's Defending Angels. I started it Thursday evening and finished it Friday morning. It's a really clever paranormal, cozy mystery. Good thing I've recovered from my book hang over because I'm off to shovel my driveway, again. :-)
ReplyDeleteLisa, the book sounds great -- I'll have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteI wish it would snow here!!! (Just not on Friday when we're flying out.)
